This policy explains what information Green Design and Build Inc (“Green Design and Build”, “we”, “us”) collects from you, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It applies to greendesignandbuild.com, to our lead forms on Facebook and Instagram, and to the phone, text and email conversations that follow.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, phone number and email address.
- Project details — the type of work you are considering, the ZIP code of the property, your budget range, your timeline, whether you own the home, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Property information — the address of the property, which we normally collect on the phone or at the site visit rather than on a form.
- Information you enter into our tools — for example our ADU Rules Calculator, which uses the property location to tell you what your lot allows.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, texts and messages you send us, and notes our team takes during calls and site visits.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, the pages you view on our site and how long you spend on them.

Information from Facebook and Instagram
If you fill in one of our lead forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes us the answers you gave along with the contact details Meta pre-filled from your profile. Meta’s own handling of your data is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy, not this one.
How we use your information
- Responding to you — calling, texting or emailing you about the project you asked about, and scheduling a site visit.
- Preparing your proposal — measuring the job, pricing it, and sending you an itemized written proposal.
- Running the project — if you hire us: scheduling, permits and plan check with your city or county, inspections, invoicing and warranty service.
- Financing, if you ask for it — passing the details a lender needs to a financing partner you have chosen. We only do this at your request.
- Improving our advertising — understanding which ads and pages lead to real projects, so we spend less on advertising that reaches the wrong people.
- Legal and safety — keeping contract and permit records as California law requires, resolving disputes, and preventing fraud.
Calls, texts and emails
When you give us your phone number through a form, by phone, or in person, you agree that we may contact you about your project by phone call and by text message, including through automated dialing or texting systems, at the number you gave us.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You do not have to agree to automated calls or texts in order to hire us.
- Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
- To stop texts, reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.
- To stop calls, tell whoever calls you, or contact us using the details above.
- We may record or monitor calls for quality and training. If we do, you will be told at the start of the call.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies on greendesignandbuild.com to make the site work, to understand how it is used, and to measure our advertising.
- Essential cookies — keep the site working: page delivery, security, and remembering form entries.
- Google Analytics — tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Meta Pixel and Conversions API — tells us which of our Facebook and Instagram ads led to an enquiry, and lets us show ads to people who have visited our site. Some of this information is sent to Meta from your browser and some from our server.
- OpenAI Ads pixel — tells us which of our ads shown in ChatGPT led to an enquiry, and measures how those ads perform. Some of this information is sent to OpenAI from your browser.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working properly. You can control how Meta uses your information for advertising in your Facebook Ad Preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out add-on.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass your enquiry to other contractors. If you contact us, you are contacting us — not a lead broker who resells your details to four companies.
We share information only with the following, and only as far as each needs it:
- Our team and our subcontractors — the licensed tradespeople working on your project under our contract.
- Software we use to run the business — our customer relationship management system, our website host, our email and text messaging providers, and the automation service that moves an enquiry from a form into our system.
- Advertising and analytics platforms — Meta, Google and OpenAI, as described above.
- Financing partners — only if you ask us to explore financing. We work with Synchrony, Service Finance and Home Run Financing; each has its own privacy policy.
- Cities and counties — permit applications name you as the property owner. This is a legal requirement of permitted construction work.
- Professional advisers and authorities — our insurers, lawyers and accountants, or a government body where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as there is a realistic prospect of working together, and normally no longer than three years after your last contact with us. Remodeling decisions often take a year or more, which is why that period is not shorter.
If you become a customer, we keep contract, permit, inspection and warranty records for at least ten years after the work is completed. California law sets outer limits of four years for obvious construction defects and ten years for hidden ones, and we keep the records that would matter for that long.
Your choices and your rights
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can:
- Ask us what information we hold about you, and ask for a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we are required to keep.
- Tell us to stop calling, texting or emailing you.
If you are a California resident
California law gives residents rights over their personal information, including the right to know what is collected and why, the right to request deletion or correction, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
We do not sell personal information. Our use of advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law; you can opt out by adjusting your browser and Meta ad settings as described above, or by contacting us.

Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting who on our team can see it and using reputable providers for the systems that store it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our services are for homeowners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so clearly on this page.
