Why you cannot judge a roof from the street
This Newport Beach roof looked fine from the curb. Once the old covering came off, the plank decking at the eaves was rotted through in several places. The deck was repaired and a new shingle roof installed by our C-39 roofing contractor, scheduled and supervised by us as the general contractor.

The full job, from tear-off to the finished roof, is on our Newport Beach project page, with more in the project gallery.
What the free inspection includes
No cost, no obligation, no pressure. Written down here so there is no confusion.
Free, with no obligation
The inspection costs nothing and you owe us nothing. If repairs are needed you get a written proposal within 48 hours and decide in your own time.
A licensed general contractor
Class B license 1110975, bonded and insured. The people who inspect your house are the people who would fix it, under permit.
Roof work by a licensed roofer
Roof repairs and replacements are performed and permitted under a C-39 roofing license by a roofing contractor we schedule and supervise as your general contractor.
Seismic bolt-and-brace in days
Bolting the house to its foundation and bracing the cripple walls is usually two to five days of work, done under permit, and the cheapest moment to do it is before the ground is wet.
Financing for repairs
HELOC, cash-out refinance and home improvement loans are the usual routes. Contractor financing is also available through Synchrony, Service Finance and Home Run Financing, with zero down options subject to credit approval.

Before you book
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. There is no fee and no obligation. We are offering it as a service to the community ahead of a wet winter. If we find something that needs work, we tell you what it is and send a written proposal within 48 hours; what you do with it is up to you.
Why now?
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center has an El Niño advisory in effect and gives a greater than 90 percent chance of a very strong El Niño this winter. Strong El Niño winters have historically brought heavier rain to Southern California; the impacts are more likely, not guaranteed. The time to find a cracked pipe boot, a clogged downspout or an unbolted sill plate is before the first storm, not during it.
What do you check?
On the roof side: the covering, flashing, valleys, pipe boots and vents, the gutters and downspouts, and the grading and drainage around the house. On the foundation side: cracks, settling and moisture in the crawl space, whether the house is bolted to its foundation, and whether the cripple walls are braced. You get plain answers the same day.
What happens if you find something?
We explain what it is, whether it needs attention before the rains or can wait, and send a written proposal within 48 hours. Repairs are done under permit; roofing is performed by a licensed C-39 roofing contractor we schedule and supervise. Financing is available. There is no pressure to proceed.
Where do you inspect?
Los Angeles County, including the San Fernando Valley, and Orange County. Ask us about Ventura County and the Inland Empire.
What happens after I send the form?
A member of our team replies within one business day to set a time. Calls are made by real people and are recorded, which we announce at the start. Your details are used only to arrange the inspection.
Know where you stand before the rain does.
